Here are directions to get to the Botanical Garden from any place in the Bay Area (We thank Sue Rosenthal for providing!):

FROM CONTRA COSTA COUNTY AND PLACES EAST

1. Take Hwy 24 westbound. Exit at Fish Ranch Road (just before the Caldecott Tunnel).
   At the stop sign at the end of the long off ramp, turn right on Fish Ranch Road.
   
2. Continue for about 3/4 mile on Fish Ranch Road to Grizzly Peak Blvd (stop sign).
   Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd. Continue 1.5 miles on Grizzly Peak Blvd to S. Park Dr. (about 1/8 mile past the Steam Train, on the right).
   
3. Turn right on S. Park Dr. Continue 1.5 miles to the end of S. Park Dr. (at Wildcat Canyon Road).
   
4. Turn left on Wildcat Canyon Road. Continue on Wildcat Canyon Road for 1/8 mile to Anza View Road, a small, one-way street on the right.
   
5. Turn right on Anza View Road. Park along the lawn side of Anza View Road. Enter the garden through the gate on Anza View Road. Your docents will meet you inside this gate.

FROM NORTHBAY AND RICHMOND BRIDGE ON I-580 HEADING WEST TOWARD BERKELEY

1. Take I-580 west to the Albany (Buchanan Street) exit. This exit is from the LEFT LANE of the freeway.
2. Follow the off-ramp/road for a few blocks until it intersects Buchanan Street.
3. Turn left on Buchanan Street, following it east until it turns into Marin Ave (the street changes names at San Pablo Avenue).
4. Follow Marin Ave. east for a mile or more to the traffic circle with the fountain in the center. Go halfway around the circle and turn right on the continuation of Marin Ave. (the steepest street). Go several blocks on Marin Ave. to Euclid Ave (the second stop sign).
5. Turn left on Euclid Ave. and continue for 0.6 mile to Grizzly Peak Blvd (the next stop sign). Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd.
6. Continue for 1.2 miles to Shasta Road (look for a brown sign that says “Tilden Regional Park/Shasta Gate” by a group of trees on the left).
7. Turn left on Shasta Road. Follow Shasta Road where it turns downhill (follow the sign to “All Other Facilities”). Stay to the right when Shasta Road merges with Wildcat Canyon Road (at the next stop sign).
8. Go a very short distance on Wildcat Canyon Road (about 1/10 mile) to Anza View Road, a small, one way street on the left.
9. Turn left on Anza View Road. Park along the lawn side of Anza View Road. Enter the garden through the gate on Anza View Road. Your docents will meet you inside this gate.

FROM I-80 HEADING WEST TOWARD BERKELEY (from Fairfield, Davis, etc.)

1. Take I-80 west towards Albany, Berkeley. Take the Albany exit. Turn left at the end of the off ramp onto the frontage road. Follow the frontage road for about 0.4 miles south; stay on this road as it curves around and under an overpass. This street will merge with Buchanan St. at a stop sign. Continue on this road (which is now Buchanan St.) as it heads east.
2. Buchanan St. will turn into Marin Avenue; stay on Marin Ave for about 2 miles.
3. Look for a large traffic circle with a fountain in the center. Go halfway around the circle and turn right on the continuation of Marin Ave. (the steepest street).
4. Go several blocks on Marin Ave. to Euclid Ave. (the second stop sign).
5. Turn left on Euclid Ave. and continue for 0.6 mile to Grizzly Peak Blvd (the next stop sign).

FROM OAKLAND, SAN FRANCISCO / THE PENINSULA, OR THE SOUTH BAY

1. Take Hwy 24 eastbound and go through the Caldecott Tunnel in the far right lane. Immediately after leaving the tunnel, take the Fish Ranch Road exit.
2. Follow the road as it turns to the right, crossing over the freeway. Continue up Fish Ranch Road about 3/4 mile to Grizzly Peak Blvd (stop sign).
3. Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd. Continue 1.5 miles on Grizzly Peak Blvd to S. Park Dr. (about 1/8 mile past the Steam Train, on the right).
4. Turn right on S. Park Dr. Continue 1.5 miles to the end of S. Park Dr. (at Wildcat Canyon Road).
5. Turn left on Wildcat Canyon Road. Continue on Wildcat Canyon Road for 1/8 mile (past the parking lot) to Anza View Road, a small, one-way street on the right.
6. Turn right on Anza View Road. Park along the lawn side of Anza View Road. Enter the garden through the gate on Anza View Road. Your docents will meet you inside this gate.

FROM NORTH BERKELEY VIA SURFACE STREETS

1. Take Marin Ave. to Euclid Ave (there’s a stop sign).
2. Turn left on Euclid Ave. and continue for 0.6 mile to Grizzly Peak Blvd (the next stop sign).

2. Turn left on Claremont Ave. and follow it as it winds up the hill to Grizzly Peak Blvd. (stop sign).
3. Turn left on Grizzly Peak Blvd. Continue 1.5 miles on Grizzly Peak Blvd to South Park Drive. (about 1/8 mile past the Steam Train, on the right).
4. Turn right on S. Park Drive. Continue 1.5 miles to the end of S. Park Dr. (at Wildcat Canyon Road).
5. Turn left on Wildcat Canyon Road. Continue on Wildcat Canyon Road for 1/8 mile (past the parking lot) to Anza View Road, a small, one-way street on the right.
